The 888 refills have a stainless steel tip and ceramic ball with a sophisticated ventilation system that stops the ink drying out, giving them extended shelf life. These refills are especially designed for use in writing instruments that are retractable and don’t have perfect sealing caps.
The 888 SCHMIDT® liquid ink refills are made with a plastic tube, making them an affordable alternative to the Schmidt 5888 models (which are the same size but have a steel barrel). The end plug of the refills shows the colour of the ink making it easier to identify when changing between colours.
